Those Microsoft laptop hunter ads may be working after all (strangely):

From the transcript of a presentation at the Worldwide Partner Conference today:

And you know why I know they’re working? Because two weeks ago we got a call from the Apple legal department saying, hey — this is a true story — saying, “Hey, you need to stop running those ads, we lowered our prices.” They took like $100 off or something. It was the greatest single phone call in the history that I’ve ever taken in business. (Applause.)

I did cartwheels down the hallway. At first I said, “Is this a joke? Who are you?” Not understanding what an opportunity. And so we’re just going to keep running them and running them and running them.

I just purchased a Bluetooth mouse and when using it with MacBook, it felt horrible. I was thinking I would get used to it after a while but hovering around the close button and not being able to get within the hit-area of it is incredibly annoying. I had to find a fix for it and found one here: http://lavacat.com/iMouseFix/

This is the Mac’s major annoyance. I use Windows with mouse acceleration enabled and never thought much about it. It felt natural. Mouse acceleration in OS X is just a pain in the ass.

It’s like Windows has this mouse acceleration curve that is a gradual slope and Mac OS X has this mouse acceleration curve that looks like my stairs.

Murphy’s Law: Every time I look forward to something (like the MacBook Pro), it always goes wrong (expected delivery not met). Damn.

Could be your Windows secretly calling the courier to delay the delivery.

I’ve been waiting. It’s (almost) eons ago I made the purchase. I just gotten the mail from Apple that it has been shipped on: Jun 13, 2009 via TNT INTERNATIONAL EXPRESS – AP. Which basically meant it’s coming in a few days I hope. The MacBook Pron links are too tempting.

I’m already reading stuff online on how to use a Mac, hahaa…

What really great about WWDC is the new hardware refreshes on MacBook Pro. I am so happy. And after procrastinating for 2 years – yes yes yes – I am getting a MacBook Pro. :)

Nice showing of Snow Leopard too. I’m totally sold.

Haha. I thought of you too when they announced the hardware upgrade for MacBook.

Damn, now all MacBooks, except the white ones, are known as MacBook Pro. Can they print the ‘Pro’ word on mine?

Good time to buy now too. Free iPod touch for you with the Back to School promotion.

LOL, I’m getting one but I’m still looking how Mac OS X Snow Leopard Up-to-Date Program would work in Singapore. http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/

It says “Please check back on June 16, 2009, for additional information.”

I will likely hold till June 16 to see what they offer before I make a buy.

      I’m comtemplating between 13-inch: 2.26GHz and 13-inch: 2.53GHz.

I guess it’s $9.95 for you to upgrade in Sept if you get it now.

For me it’s $29. Still not too bad.

      Wow, okay. I’ll purchase soon.

Any idea how would the upgrade process be like? Is it just install over the current installation?
