VirtualBox 3 brings 3D graphics support

The VirtualBox developers have gradually been adding support for accelerated 3D graphics. VirtualBox 3 has relatively solid support for OpenGL on Windows and Linux guests. It also has gained experimental support for Direct3D 8 and 9 on Windows. These advancements could make VirtualBox a viable solution for 3D gaming.

I was thinking I would get used to it after a while but hovering around the close button and not being able to get within the hit-area of it is incredibly annoying. I had to find a fix for it and found one here: http://lavacat.com/iMouseFix/

This is the Mac’s major annoyance. I use Windows with mouse acceleration enabled and never thought much about it. It felt natural. Mouse acceleration in OS X is just a pain in the ass.

It’s like Windows has this mouse acceleration curve that is a gradual slope and Mac OS X has this mouse acceleration curve that looks like my stairs.

For some reason I’m not as excited about the new iPhone, as iPhone OS has been great since Day 1. Hardware updates don’t really excite me as much. Front camera? 4G? Better processor? Larger flash drive? Those are just accessories to the already great iPhone OS.

But of course, it’s Apple. They may surprise me with some cool new features for the iPhone OS.

I would also love to know more about Snow Leopard.

Tried it for awhile. Not quite like it yet. Issues:

  • Redrawing issue. Had to scroll up/down to get pages to render properly
  • Doesn’t load favicons automatically.
  • Can’t use proxy.
  • UI’s a bit boring. Probably an attempt to conform to the boring grayish OS X theme. Prefers the UI of the Windows version of Chrome.

Colors and unicorns are always good.
